Local mundane directions (2) Henri II

Local mundane directions (2) Henri II

We continue the study of mundane directions on the local sphere by the theme of Henry II.

Reminder of the methodology used: study of the zodiacal contra-parallels of MO and VE, in the direction arcs in conjunction with SA and MA - comparison of the zodiacal and mundane directions on the local sphere.

We study the direction :

Local mundane direction

Local mundane direction

Local mundane direction means a direction on the local sphere, as Max Duval explains in Moyens de pronostic en astrologie [Editions Traditionnelles, 1986]. The technique consists in varying the domitude (dom) of the marking point (pm) considered by increasing the hour angle (h) of an amount corresponding to the age considered taken in right ascension (AR). I refer you to: https://primarydirections.blogspot.com/2017/05/mundane-primary-direction-compute.html
where I discuss Goldmayer directions that are equivalents of zodiacal symbolic directions.

We must proceed carefully when we want to calculate a direction in which the contra-parallel (or parallel) is used in a mundane case. In fact, the corresponding longitude (zodiacal) will vary with the type of domitude used (Placidus, Campanus, Regiomontanus) and it may happen that there are some misinterpretations due to the fact that an arc determined from a point-aspect (contra-parallel or parallel in mutatio zodiaco) in a given system of domitude can lead to an exact result in another system of domitude. This leads to a double work in the calculation of parallels (or contra-parallels) which must be calculated and in Placidus and Campa-Regio (in this last case, the domitudes are different but the longitudes are the same).

methodology used:

study of the zodiacal contra-parallels of MO and VE, in the direction arcs in conjunction with SA and MA - comparison of the zodiacal and mundane directions on the local sphere.
Reminder: we can not study in an immediate way the mundane contra-parallels in zodiaco mutatio because of the difference of the domitudes.

EXAMPLE

we will illustrate this thesis by the first case given in the study Elisabeth of Spain (Elisabeth de Valois):

 https://primarydirections.blogspot.com/2017/03/elisabeth-de-valois-un-exemple.html

We give below the Campanus domitude chart.

We see that :

- dom MO = 12.72° (I)
- dom MA = 167.12 (VI),
etc.

We can now calculate three directions that coincide with 1568, the year of the death of Elisabeth de Valois.

1)- SA conj MO

Here we see the three domitudes with in the right column, the result of diff that means that there is a significant difference for the Campanus local direction with hour angle adjustment of :

 h= TS-(AR ± 23) (PTO)  :

and the synthesis chart of all directions (zodiacal and mundane) :

We see here directions cum latitudine.

2) (z) #MA conj MO

(z) #MA = 298.21° cum lat

Mundane local directions :

We see that 3 directions match with orb :

and here wee see the zodiacal directions :

with the weighting factor analysis

(see : https://primarydirections.blogspot.com/2017/12/frederick-iii.html for details about weight).

Note that W (loc mund) is > than W (zod) which is an indication os more sensibility. Finally, we find 2 zodiacal arcs and 5 local mundane arcs.

Isabel de Valois

Isabel de Valois

(9 November 1389 – 13 September 1409) was Queen consort of England as the second spouse of King Richard II. Her parents were King Charles VI of France and Isabeau of Bavaria. She married the king at the age of six and was widowed three years later. She later married Charles, Duke of Orléans, dying in childbirth at the age of nineteen.

Placidus mundane primary directions.

We analyze the direction : (m) square MA conj MO. This direction is on the local sphere in the sense of Max Duval (see les Moyens de pronostic en astrologie, Editions Traditionnelles, 1986). It is a very mundane direction.

- domitude Placidus MO = 301.9
- domitude Placidus square MA = 316.31

With Placidus ,We need the meridian distance (DMf) : -43.279°. Add the year of evenement (19 years, so : AR 20.6 Y).
We obtain : Dmf2 = -63.28.
So :domitude of MO converse is =  316.77°.

diff square MA - MO = 0.47°.
