MImi Farina

Margarita Mimi Baez Fariña

(April 30, 1945 – July 18, 2001)

American singer and musician, the founder of the non-profit concert organization, "Bread and Roses." She is the sister of Joan Baez, a close friend of Bob Dylan and a recording artist with her husband, Richard, popular in the '60s folk music. Farina was diagnosed with lung cancer in December 1998. She continued with plans for the gala 25th anniversary celebration for Bread and Roses at San Francisco's War Memorial Opera House in March 2000, where she appeared wearing a turban to hide her hair loss from chemotherapy treatments. She made jokes about not having bad hair days any longer. She died of cancer early morning, 6/18/2001 at her Mill Valley home, CA, at age 56.

Paul Hindemith

Paul Hindemith

(16 November 1895 – 28 December 1963) was a prolific German composer, violist, violinist, teacher and conductor. In the 1920s, he became a major advocate of the Neue Sachlichkeit (new objectivity) style of music. Notable compositions include his song cycle Das Marienleben (1923), Der Schwanendreher for viola and orchestra (1935), and the opera Mathis der Maler (1938).
In 1959, he suffered a mental breakdown – probably the first signs of progressive arteriosclerosis with high blood pressure.
On 4 November 1963 he set off for Vienna for concerts with the Vienna Philharmonic, attended performances there at the State Opera and directed the world premiere of his Mass for mixed choir a capella at the Piaristenkirche in Vienna on 12 November. On 16 November, on his 68th birthday in Blonay, he came down with a high fever; the cause of illness could not be ascertained. Hindemith was brought to Frankfurt for further consultations. «We kept our stay in Frankfurt a secret so as not to attract the attention of journalists. Moreover, Paul had only gone to hospital for an examination and he was actually very glad to lie in bed for a week or two and wanted to write music – so it was not at all dramatic at first» (Gertrud Hindemith in a letter to a friend). On 9 December began a series of strokes from which Hindemith died in the late evening of 28 December. It was established after his death that he had had a haemorrhage in the pancreas. Gertrud Hindemith: «His hour had come. Even if we had gotten him out of hospital, this thing would have broken out in three weeks at the latest and he would have had to suffer greatly.» [http://www.hindemith.info/en/life-work/biography/1953-1963/life/hindemiths-death/]

Almuten = MA

SPECULUM

MO afflicted : fall and combust - SU peregrine -
Best planet : MA - worst : ME -

RAYS

Note the triple square from JU / ME - MA - SA (because of the stellium). Ptolemy informs us that it is a possible relationship with sudden illness [see John Worsdale, Celestial philosophy, p. 174] notably in SCO.

« We have to consider, how many ways the Moon comes to be so ill-affected, notably the Moon is combust, that is to say under the Sun's beams, which is counted from 15 degrees of the body of the Sun as she applies to him to 12 degrees distance from him as she is separating from him; and the impediment is greater when she is going to the Sun than when she is going from him ; because as she goes off, when she is got five degrees distant, she is said to be escaped, though not wholly freed. As when a fever hath left a man, he is said to be recovered, although he be weak and faint, because he is secure now that he shall obtain his health again. The 2nd is when she is in the degrees of her descensions, that appears in the 3rd degree of Scorpio, or in any part of Scorpio or Capricorn or injoined with any Planet that is in her or its own descensions, as if she be joined with the Sun, who is in Scorpio or Capricorn or in his proper descension, viz., in Aquary or Libra, viz., in its 10th degree or in any part of Libra; or should be joined with Mars, and he be in Libra or Taurus, or in the 28th degree, or in any part of Cancer; and so with any other Planet or Planets respectively... » [Guido Bonatus, Anima Astrologie Or A Guide For Astrologers Being The Considerations Of The Famous Guido Bonatus 1675 William Lilly, p.6-7]

Louis VIII of France

Louis VIII of France

My attention was drawn to this article by Emmanuel Poulle [The date of birth of Louis VIII, Bibliothèque de l'École des chartes, Année 1987 145-2, pp. 427-430] in which the date of birth of Louis VIII is specified with perhaps an hour of birth, corresponding to the 10th hour (or about 5h PM of our current time) :

where we read:

nativitas reguli IIIa die septembris, hora Xa, sole existente in XVIII ° gradu virginis, ascendente XIIII ° gradu aquarii. (fol. 2)

The birth date (Greg cal) is : 1187 september 11 ~17h pm (long 02°20' - lat 48°N52')

ALMUTEN

SPECULUM

As we can see, the value of almuten should be considered with caution: ME is cb and retrograde. However, it is in Exn and its celestial value is positive. MO is also cb (we also note an eclipse which E. Poulle tells us it occurred on September 4, 1187) :

Finally, note that the worst planet is MA; it is peregrine which can, according to tradition, somewhat diminish its usual fatal character.

RAYS

Please note that ME is cb and therefore impeded.

PARALLELS

See for instance : https://www.qhdc.org/parallel.htm on parallels and modern bibliography.

As you see, conj. are two parallels and both aspects ; but not // (parallel relative to MC|FC axis) and # (contra-parallel relative to ASC|DSC axis).
The difficulty is how to interpret the meaning of a similar or opposite declination; it seems that in certain diseases, what I have called parallel mundane directions in "echo" is highlighted.

HYLEG and ALCHOCODEN

Also called: alcocoden, alcochoden, colcodea, kadhkudah (non-exhaustive list). the table below lists the hyleg and the alchocoden specifying the possible lifespan. Age is calculated based on the time equation. The arguments are presented in tables which enable the judgment to be based on the justified choice of the hyleg and his ruler. The term of ruler is summary, the alchocoden being generally more difficult to determine than a simple sign ruler.

We see synthesis by Dorotheus [from Carmen Astrologicum III], Alcabitius [from Introduction to Astrology, differentia quarta] and Ptolemy [Tetrabiblos, 3.10].Bonatti's determination has been added, but it does not appear explicitly on this table (Liber Astronomiae, 1550, de nativitatibus tractatus, cap 1-6, col 672-687). Note: in general, it seems that Ptolemy has essentially undertaken only a review on the chapter of lifespan; he says much less than Alcabitius on the subject.

For this case : MO is hyleg, but weak, relatively to SU cb. ME is alchocoden.

PRIMARY DIRECTIONS

Louis VIII (5 September 1187 – 8 November 1226), byname The Lion (French: Le Lion), was King of France from 1223 to 1226. From 1216 to 1217, he also claimed to be King of England (as Louis I). Louis was the only surviving son of King Philip II of France by his first wife, Isabelle of Hainaut, from whom he inherited the County of Artois. King Louis VIII became ill with dysentery, and died on 8 November 1226 in the Château de Montpensier, Auvergne. Louis VIII just headed the new crusade. His army assembled at Bourges in May 1226. While the exact number of troops present is unknown, it was certainly the largest force ever sent against the Cathars. It set out in June 1226

Regiomontanus

Johannes Müller von Königsberg (6 June 1436 – 6 July 1476), better known as Regiomontanus , was a mathematician, astrologer and astronomer of the German Renaissance, active in Vienna, Buda and Nuremberg. His contributions were instrumental in the development of Copernican heliocentrism in the decades following his death.

Lucae Gaurici Tractatus astrologiae, Venetiis, MDLII, f. 62v

In 1475, Regiomontanus was called to Rome by Pope Sixtus IV on to work on the planned calendar reform. Sixtus promised substantial rewards, including the title of bishop of Regensburg, it is unlikely that he was actually appointed to the role.
On his way to Rome, stopping in Venice, he commissioned the publication of his Calendarium with Erhard Ratdolt (printed in 1476). Regiomontanus reached Rome, but he died there after only a few months, in his 41st year, on 6 July 1476. According to a rumor repeated by Gassendi in his Regiomontanus biography, he was poisoned by relatives of George of Trebizond whom he had criticized in his writing; it is however considered more likely that he died from the plague.
