MAXIMILIAN I
Maximilian I (22 March 1459 – 12 January 1519) was King of the Romans (also known as King of the Germans) from 1486 and Holy Roman Emperor from 1493 until his death, though he was never crowned by the Pope, as the journey to Rome was always too risky. He was the son of Frederick III, Holy Roman Emperor, and Eleanor of Portugal. He ruled jointly with his father for the last ten years of his father's reign, from c. 1483 to 1493. [wikipedia]

'Empress Eleanor's wish for her newborn prince was probably drawn up in the spring of 1459. The author also made legitimate use of stylistic models by his teacher Peuerbach. However, the twenty-three-year-old Konigsberger was already a master since 1457, and the text of the introduction compared to the Eleonoren Horoscope shows the student's development as an equal scholar. Helmuth Grossing states: The nativity of Maximilian I can ... be attributed to Regiomontanus for good reason [31, p. 274 f.]. Just this statement refers again to Johannes Muller as the author of the Eleonoren Horoscope. For between both Nativitaten a connection must exist. Zinner explains that the empress was so pleased with her interpretation that she wanted to convey the second nativity to her son Maximilian, conscious of who had worked her fate a few years before. That this was Regiomontanus is also clear from this. In the iibri-gen, the horoscope created in 1451/1452 is not signed with GdP, as Peuerbach otherwise used in his work. Now one could argue that this had been forgotten. But there is an inerrant reference to the author Johannes Muller, who excludes the authorship of Peuerbach. Regiomontanus begins the nativity with the word Jesus. The astronomer Peuerbach, rooted in humanistic thinking and followers of ancient lifestyles and the worship of younglings, was alienated from a Christian signum. This was typical of the Kongisberger, who always used a Christian owner's mark' [126, p. 20, 35 ff., 210]. It deeply impressed the Konigsberger, with which spontaneity Peuerbach relinquished this commission to him, the fifteen-year-old, and with what special kindness he helped him to cope with this work.
[Gaurici, 50v, Tractatus astrologiae, MDLII]
The Nativity of Maximilian I dedicated Regiomontanus the kaise-rin with the following words:
You have laid a heavy burden upon me, the highest of the Empresses, when you demanded that I interpret the fate of your Son from the stars. For it is difficult and extremely difficult to see from the stars what exactly is to be seen from the stars. If you want to learn this, you have to know a lot of things. ... When I got to work, I was terrified. Although nature has given me a certain gift, I know that I have no such knowledge. However, I ought to obey the very highest Empress Leonore. Therefore, if I am not to carry out the task less well, then I think that not only I, the observer, but also you, the commander, should be blamed for the guilt. It would be easier for me to bear the burden than I can presuppose with you such a knowledge of things and indulgence ... (126, S. 37f)
