Edward VI (2)

Edward VI (2)

See :http://primarydirections.blogspot.com/2017/05/cardanos-twelve-horoscopes-1.html.

In February 1553, at age 15, Edward fell ill. When his sickness was discovered to be terminal, he and his Council drew up a "Devise for the Succession", to prevent the country's return to Catholicism. Edward named his first cousin once removed, Lady Jane Grey, as his heir, excluding his half-sisters, Mary and Elizabeth. This decision was disputed following Edward's death, and Jane was deposed by Mary nine days after becoming queen. During her reign, Mary reversed Edward's Protestant reforms, which nonetheless became the basis of the Elizabethan Religious Settlement of 1559.

I. Natal chart

In this chart, we see that VE and SA are in (I), with ASC VIRGO (ruler ME). The MC is TAURUS, ruler VE. MA, MO, ME and JU are debilitated (cadent).
- MO is exile (CAPRI) ; SU fall (LIBRA) ; VE fall (VIRGO).
- Morinus gives SA for ALMUTEN -

Observe carefully that we have both a quadra SU-MO in zodiacal and mundane position. The hypothesis is that the quadrate will be active uniquely in this kind of configuration. Same thing about the quadrate MA-ME. Observe again that TRI VE-JU is uniquely zodiacal (not mundane).

- ALCHOCODEN (PTO) seems to be VE.

sext ME tri JU conj SA
VE 8,00 1,67 1,00 4,75

D = 15.4 Y (16)

We take the lesser years of ME (cadent), the lesser years of JU (cadent) and the greater years of SA (angular). We take the lesser years of VE (in fall). Note that it is the only way to fit with the length of life. It therefore seems that ALCHOCODEN's prediction technique is extremely difficult to apply and that we are too inclined to match the "good years" (greater, lesser, etc.) according to the profile we have it under the eyes. There is too much subjectivity...

II. Primary directions

A.  #VE conj MA

Observe in the chart that we have a mirroring direction between MA and #VE and #MA and VE.

1. parameters

The #VE is what Max Duval calls e mundane converse point with a 'natural' celestial latitude.

2. analysis

The weighting factor indicates a strong dominance of the zodiacal directions. Observe that we have, once more time, a Gold Regio Goldmayer arc with the mundane counter-parallel.

3. result
zodiacal

mundane

D --> Z C Placidus AR orb 0.02.

B. #MA conj VE (mirroring direction)

It is the 2nd direction with mundane #MA in house I.

1. parameters

Same observation about the mundane #MA, the corresponding L(z) 173.03° VIRGO and the latitude which is computed taking care of the declination and the latitude of radix MA.

2. analysis

Here, we have an excess of X-directions (fictitious) but the most precise is Z D Placidus. The AO is quite natural, as we are closely to ASC.

3. result

If we compute the Z C Placidus, we obtain :
zodiacal
mundane

D --> Z D Placidus 1/AR, orb 0.

But if we compute the Z D Placidus direction, we obtain :

zodiacal

Observe that here, we have a very converse direction.

mundane

The result seems most precise with the Boudineau Placidus technical (see Max Duval for commentaries and computation method).

C. opp MO conj MA

1. parameters

2. analysis

Weighting factor indicates clear dominance of D-Z (and D-M).

3. result

computed for Z C Regio-Campa.
zodiacal

mundane

D --> Z D Regio-Campa 1/AR orb -0.08.

D. ASC conj SA

1. parameters

It will be a direct direction.

2. analysis

3. result

C --> Z D Placidus AR orb 0.

Cardano's twelve horoscopes [1]

CARDANO'S TWELVE HOROSCOPES

GENITURA I

Hieronymi Cardani (1501-1576)

1. Edward VI, King of England - 22 octobre 1537 - 1h 26 am (greg.) - Hampton Court

 FIGURE I : Anglorum Regis Edoardi Sexti
(Hieronymi Cardani, etc. Operum tomus quintus quo continentur ... astrologica ... Lugduni, DCLXIII (VIII, Duodecim Geniturarum Liber, p. 503]

Edward became ill during January 1553 with a fever and cough that gradually worsened. The imperial ambassador, Jean Scheyfve, reported that
"he suffers a good deal when the fever is upon him, especially from a difficulty in drawing his breath, which is due to the compression of the organs on the right side".
Edward felt well enough in early April to take the air in the park at Westminster and to move to Greenwich, but by the end of the month he had weakened again. By 7 May he was "much amended", and the royal doctors had no doubt of his recovery. A few days later the king was watching the ships on the Thames, sitting at his window. However, he relapsed, and on 11 June Scheyfve, who had an informant in the king's household, reported that

"the matter he ejects from his mouth is sometimes coloured a greenish yellow and black, sometimes pink, like the colour of blood".

Now his doctors believed he was suffering from "a suppurating tumour" of the lung and admitted that Edward's life was beyond recovery. Soon, his legs became so swollen that he had to lie on his back, and he lost the strength to resist the disease [wikipedia]

FIGURE II

  • conjonction Vénus - Saturne à l'AS
  • Jupiter au MC
  • Denebola (β Leo) en conjonction avec le groupe {Vénus-Saturne}
  • Alcyone (η Taurus) au MC et Bungula (α Centaurus,) à l'IC
1)- La domitude de Denebola est de 4°37'11". Conjonction avec l'AS.
According to Ptolemy Denebola is of the nature of Saturn and Venus;[...] It gives swift judgment, despair, regrets, public disgrace, misfortune from the elements of nature, and happiness turned to anger, and makes its natives noble, daring, self-controlled, generous and busy with other people's affairs. [Robson, p.160-161.]
2)- La domitude d'Alcyone est de 268°32'.
Alcyone causes love, eminence, blindness from fevers, small pox, and accidents to the face. [Robson, p.119.]
 3)- la domitude de Bungula (Toliman) est de 79°52'06".
 According to Ptolemy it is of the nature of Venus and Jupiter; and, to Alvidas, of Mars with the Moon and Uranus in Scorpio. Bungula gives beneficence, friends, refinement and a position of honor. [Robson, p.148.]
