(15 May 1531 – 11 December 1581) was the daughter of Emperor Ferdinand I from the House of Habsburg and Anna Jagiello.

There seems to be some uncertainty about Maria's birth time. Leowitz even gives a wrong date (Vatikan, Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana, Pal Lat 1423 Pruckner, Nicolaus; Leowitz, Cyprian, p.13) March 14, 1531 - We have retained the date (greg) of May 26, 1531 at 1 PM.
