Monroe Marilyn

Marilyn Monroe (born Norma Jeane Mortenson; June 1, 1926 – August 5, 1962)

She was an American actress and model. Famous for playing comic "dumb blonde" characters, she became one of the most popular sex symbols of the 1950s and was emblematic of the era's attitudes towards sexuality. Although she was a top-billed actress for only a decade, her films grossed $200 million by the time of her unexpected death in 1962. She continues to be considered a major popular culture icon.

We are interested in three directions: MA conj MO, VE conj MA and SU conj VE.

It is interesting to note that, at the time of his death, three conjunctions are superimposed (if one takes into account of course the coincidence of the keys of conversion). Without conversion, we have :

- MA conj MO = 1964 (PTO, CAMPA, C) or 1963 (idem, D) ; with key conv and mean, we have : 1961.97
- VE conj MA = 1962 (PTO, CAMPA, C) ; with key conv and mean, we have : 1962.29
- SO conj VE = 1963 (PTO, CAMPA, C) or 1969 (idem, C) ; with key conv and mean : 1962.47.

Important note for abbreviations: AR = conversion key in right ascension of the sun - EQU = conversion key on the equator of the sun - 1 / AR or 1 / EQU = inverse - PTO = Ptolemy key - Naib = Naibod key - Dir = - Z = zodiacal - M = mundane - D = direct direction - C = converse meaning (in the sense of ancient astrology) - D - AR = direction in right ascension - AO = direction in oblique ascension - Gold Regio = direction Goldmayer, Variety Placid = direction Goldmayer, variety Placidus - Symb = symbolic direction - X - 1: table of "fictitious" directions with arc x key factor - X - 2 = table of "fictitious" directions with date x key factor

The results will be given without then with latitude, first of the promissor (as the specialized astrologers usually do), then of the significator, and finally of the two.

-- with latitude of the promissor ans significator (i.e. - 2.16° and - 2.76°)

The results are now standardized, given the possible way of comparing primary and non-primary directions. Indeed, we observe in both groups redundancies that must be evacuated. This is the reason why I give the raw results, appearing in the table to the right, and the standardized results appearing in the diff table. So, without latitude, we have only 4 DP and 1 X.

-- latitude of the promissor (standard method)

Here, we have 5 DP and 3 X finally.

-- latitude of significator (not typical to use that method)

Here, we have 3 DP and no X.

-- no latitude (another typical method ; for instance, Martin Gansten doesn't use latitude, as far as i know...)

We see 4 PM and 2 X. In sum, standardization makes it possible to eliminate duplicates for both types of directions (I repeat: primary and non-primary directions); However, this type of analysis only applies in absolute terms because it is obvious that much information is lost because of this filtering.

I would not repeat this kind of analysis: I simply wanted to show the possibilities offered by the analysis of all the directions, in a unique way, up to and including options such as the choice of latitudes, which remains a very discussed area Among specialists. Let us recall that Morin de Villefranche devoted part of volume 16 of his Astrologia Gallica to this problem, quoting in particular what Bianchini wrote, (cf. trans. James Holden, 2008). I therefore present such results only for statistical analysis. Ideally, two tests can be used as I mentioned in an earlier section: the McNemar test and especially the Kruskall-Wallis test for several samples.

2)- VE conj MA

- parameters

- results

As explained above, the two small tables at the top right give the results minus the duplicates. We also see that the latitude of the promising was used.

3)- SO conj VE

It may seem curious to include in the list of directions deemed dangerous an aspect of conjugation; Note however that SU is the ALMUTEN and that VE is weak and in cadent house.

Gian Giacomo Medices (cardano 6)

CARDANO'S TWELVE HOROSCOPES

GENITURA VI

Hieronymi Cardani (1501-1576)

Cardano may have attempted to bring about one other reversai of conventional historical judgment, this time relating to the recent history of Milan (and possibly specifically in response to Arluno). In a collection of twelve genitures that he published in 1554, he included that of Gian Giacomo Medici. In the accompanying narrative, he admitted that Medici had initially been a robber baron, but he pointed out that Medici had then fought strenuously and effectively on behalf of Charles V. He added — using arguments similar to those of the Encomium of Nero, but with an even more pointed example — that no one, including the first Francesco Sforza, had ever risen from private life to control of a principality without betraying his patria and performing some wicked acts. Moreover, Cardano

[Cardano, Liber XII geniturarum, no. 6, in Cardano 1663, 5:514. The work was first published in 1554 with Cardano’s commentary on Ptolemy’s Tetrabiblos (see note 2 to the present chapter); on this collection, see Grafton 1999, Cardano's Cosmos, chapter 7. For Arluno’s evaluation of Gian Giacomo Medici, see note 44 to this chapter.]

maintained that Medici was virtuous and pious in private life and compelled by necessity to act as he did.83 Only a decade earlier, Cardano had published an even more laudatory geniture of Gian Giacomo Trivulzio, the Milanese general who fought for the French in the wars at the turn of the century; in it, he referred to Trivulzio as “the great glory of our country.” Cardano may have shifted his perspective in the interim and doubtless had prudential reasons for his account of Medici, who was still alive, was the brother of a cardinal (soon to become pope) and of a former patient, and was a member of a powerful family with which Cardano retained valuable connections. But it seems likely that his real opinion of both men was expressed in a remark not published in his lifetime: “Someone may say that Gian Giacomo Trivulzio and Gian Giacomo Medici were dashing and perhaps rare generals, but both were more mad for power than for honor; one let the French into the city, the other considered the citizens his enemies, so that we might boldly declare that the same person cannot be a good general and a good citizen.” [History, Medicine, and the Traditions of Renaissance Learning, Nancy G. Siraisi, Michigan Press, 2008]

Cardano's twelve horoscopes [3]

CARDANO'S TWELVE HOROSCOPES

GENITURA III

Hieronymi Cardani (1501-1576)

 3. Claude de Laval, sr. de Boisdeaulphin (1515-1555) - 6 avril 1515 - 0h30 AM (jul)

Ambassadeur en Angleterre, 1551-1553. Portrait: dessin, Oxford, Ashmolean, WA 6. 77.
Ex Anglis purpuratis Ioancm Checum inftitutorem tenerioris aetatis Regis Odoardi
fexti, & Claudium Lavalum Gallum Legatum Regis fui apud Anglos Principemque Bidolfiae E noftris etiam ciuibus, no parum debeo singulari virtuti [...]

My friends among the high officials of the English Courtwere Sir John Cheke, childhood tutor to King Edward VI, and Claude Lavalle, who was the ambassador of the French King to England, and Prince of Bois-Dauphin.
[De Vita propria liber, Villery, 1663, cap XV, p. 71]
 FIGURE I :Claudij Lavalli Princ.

FIGURE III : fixed stars in mundo

influence des étoiles :
  • Mirach : According to Ptolemy it is of the nature of Venus; and, to Alvidas, of Mars and the Moon. It gives personal beauty, a brilliant mind, a love of home, great devotion, beneficence, forgiveness, love, overcoming by kindness, renown, and good fortune in marriage. [Robson, p.178.] ;
  •  Bételgeuse : With Mars: Cautious, reserved, good leader and organizer, honor and preferment in martial matters. [Robson, p.147.] ;

FIGURE IV : Mirach, Betelgeuse in mundo (dom direct)

FIGURE V : Mirach in mundo (dom converse)

HENRI II

31 mars 1519 (jul.) - 7h 05 - château de Saint-Germain-en-Laye
[Henri II, Didier Le Fur, Tallandier, 2013, p. chap. II

FIGURE I

1)- les étoiles apparaissent comme indicées par leur conjonction in zodiaco avec les points marquants ; on ne peut toutefois tirer d'argument in zodiaco dans leurs rapports avec les points marquants que pour autant que la conjonction persiste in mundo ;
-------------------------------------------
The time of the death is told us by Gabriel Daniel [History of France, since the establishment of the french monarchy, in the Gauls, the volume IX, 1755, pp. 893-895]
Among the ordinary entertainments in these strong of parties, we failed gave hardly, especially in France, it that of the tournaments. King liked very much this military exercise some dangerous that it was, because it was there extremely skillful. It made it publish one of the sort of those whom we called no weapons, as we see it by the cartel. He had to last three days, and king, had to be the upholder, with the duke of Way, the duke of Nemours, and the prince of Ferrara, in the lists of the street holy Antoine.

He supported several assaults the first day with a lot applauses, and he did the same the second, who was the thirtieth of June, with a such success. On the evening as we were ready to finish, he wanted to break another lance with the count of Montgommeri captain of Scottish guards, son of sir of Lorges. The queen, as she had had a presentiment of the misfortune which had to arrive, begged him twice not to run any more, and again made him it ask by the duke of Savoye: but he persisted, and sent a lance to the count.

They entered both in the running, roamed the one against the other one, and broke their lances, of one of which a brightness passing through the visor of the helmet of king, entered him hardly before the right eye. This blow made him waddle; his riders quickly ran up to help him; sir Dauphin, duke of Savoye, the cardinal of Bourbon, the supreme commander, and all the hardly alarmed court, assembled around him. He tells them that it was nothing, and that he forgave Montgommeri. The blood which went out to big broth by the wound, made them known the danger. We transported him to the palace of Tournelles. The people crossing suddenly as the enjoyment in the most extreme consternation, followed him up to there; and each withdrawing at faith in sad one silence, spread this sad piece of news in all the districts of the city.

After the first device had been raised, the wound seemed very-bad, and in few days we despaired of the life of this prince. One of those, whom this annoying setback worried most, was the duke of Savoye, because the ceremony of its marriage with the sister of king had been postponed to in the fact that that of Elisabeth's marriage of France with king of Spain had been made: and he fear that king coming to die, the court no change of resolution fur this marriage, and for the restoration of his states: what several of the council, and for - all the marshal of Brissac, had strongly opposed. He came very worried of finding king, and represented to him of which consequence he was for him that things conform to it most rather. This prince considering the justice of the asks, urge him to marry in the room the ninth of July. He expired the next day, which was the eleventh day since his wound, in forty and first year of his age, and The thirteenth of its reign.

King, says this historian [Brantome], having made pull his horoscope, he is predicted that he would be killed in duel. The supreme commander who was present, laughed at this prediction as at a madness, king however wanted the horoscope to be kept, and put him in the hands of the Mr. of Laubespine Secretary of State. But he marked by his conduct that he did not add it big faith; because during the war he looked for all the opportunities possible to join Charles V. that he hated personally, and the subject of this hatred, was that being in hostage in Spain for king François I. his father, Charles V. had badly used it towards him, and had published much more friendship and consideration for the duke of Orléans his younger child, that for him. As soon as king had been transported to the palace of Tournelles, the supreme commander was brought this horoscope by Laubespine, and having reviewed it, he exclaimed with tears in the eyes, king died; here is the single combat where he had to die. We claim that it was the same judicial astrologer who predicts to the duke of Way that it would be killed that all at once from behind, and to Lord Descars the accident from which he died, having withdrawn at his home in Limousin. But it would be well possible make that these last two predictions would have crossed real without the being indeed, and it thanks to the first one.

We shall consult with profit on reports between the astrologer evoked by Laubespine [it is about Gauricus] and Nostradamus the site of P. Guinard.
