Leopold duke of Albany (Zadkiel 70)

Leopold duke of Albany (Zadkiel 70)

From :

Judgment on the life of his Royal Highness Prince Leopold George Duncan Albert. In this Nativity, the Sun is Hyleg, the 21st degree of Leo ascending at birth. The Sun is powerfully
aspected by the Zodiacal and Mundane Trines of Jupiter, and in Conjunction with Mercury, without any aspects of the malefics. The Moon is also in Conjunction with Venus and Mars. The Ascendant is in Trine to Venus, Moon, and Mara. His Royal Highness has therefore a very strong constitution, and if care is used when the evil directions to the Hyleg are in operation, there is every reason to believe he will live to an advanced age. The Moon being in Parallel and Conjunction with Mars, may cause slight feverish complaints, and at times severe pains in his head.

I do not think it's necessary to make any particular comment on this disastrous prediction! We will see what there is reason to think of the proximity of VE to MO. I already notice 3 planets in VIII, including MA in tight conjunction with MO. The SU is cadent ; it is ruler of the ASC but that is not enough to make up for this accidental misfortune. VE is in exile, debilitated. MA is strong.

I. Natal chart

The thing to notice here is the conjunction between VE and Algenib [Gamma (γ) Pegasus stars] noted for the misfortunes it can provide. The conjunction at VE, debilitated, must therefore be taken into consideration. Moreover, VE is ruler of MC... We must retain the danger of accidents [Robson, 122]. In the present case, we must have in mind that the death of Leopold has a special circumstance :

'In February 1884, Leopold went to Cannes on doctor's orders: joint pain is a common symptom of hemophilia and the winter climate in the United Kingdom was always difficult for him. His wife, pregnant at the time, stayed at home but urged him to go. On 27 March, at his Cannes residence, the 'Villa Nevada', he slipped and fell, injuring his knee and hitting his head. He died in the early hours of the next morning, apparently from a cerebral hemorrhage' [wikipedia]

Observe that Pegasus was born from the blood of Medusa (see Algol) after Perseus had cut off her head. In this case, like so many others, we retain certain key terms which, according to the circumstances, adapt very curiously and in the most exact manner to the circumstances of death.

The ALMUTEN, according to Ibn-Ezra or Omar, is SU ; according to Lilly, it's JU (in SAG).

In this natal chart, we observe the possibility of computing a progress direction by proper motion of MO, given the proximity of MO to VE.

C. MO conj VE (secondary progressed direction)

Here the question arises of considering a direction which, a priori, may seem nothing to do with the event we are considering. But I do not think that this question should be considered in this way; it is above all the celestial state that we must judge: it is on the one hand that VE is debilitated and that on the other hand, VE is in conjunction (by zodiacal longitude) with a bad star: Algenib. Let us not forget that VE and MO are located in VIII and that at the same time that we have the direction SU conj SA, we also have the direction MO conj VE (I speak of a secondary direction progressed), which in the sense Leo's (see Alan Leo, the progressed horoscope, Fowler, London, 1906, p. 95) is crucial.

Planetarium detail from CapricornPrometheus software. At 15:12 (13:10 radix + 2:02 corresponding to the life time length 1 ° = 1 year PTO), we observe by direct movement the conjunction between Ve, MO and Algenib.

We observe both Regio-Campa and Placidus directions.

D. MA conj MC

Important direction if we consider that it was an accident (a fall on rocks) that determined - while Leopold was haemophiliac, a cranial trauma with cerebral haemorrhage (at least that is what is supposed).

Almost all the planets combine to form a train of directions quite imposing for the period 1883-1884. And several (at least three) focus on the MO-VE axis.

Fanny Shaw (Zadkiel 129)

Fanny Shaw (Zadkiel 129)

From :

The following authentic case of twins I obtained from a friend some months back. In the boy's Nati-vity, the Sun is Hyleg, strong in the Ascendant, and unafflicted, having the parallel of Venus and the Sextile of Herechel: he is still hying. In the little girl’s Nativity, the ascendant is Hyleg, afflicted by the Conjunction of Saturn and the Square of Herschel; a more remarkable proof of the truth of the effect of planetary influence on our constitutions and lives cannot bo adduced. Let the reader remember, that the rules here laid down for judging the length of life in any horoscope are the same that the immortal Ptolemy wrote, 1700 years ago, and not the new-fangled ideas of a man of the 19th century.

I. Natal chart

It seems plausible that little Fanny suffered a sudden death of the infant.

We have two pending aspects: SA-ASC conjunction and VE-MO opposition. VE and MO are essential life factors in this theme. According to Lilly, VE is the ALMUTEN. MO is strong. SU is exile and JU is in fall.

THOMAS Sarah

From :

'I will give here one instance of a violent death. Sarah Harriet Thomas, executred at Bristol on the 20th April 1849 for the murder of Miss Jeffries.' [Astrology as it is..., p. 126]

'In this Nativity the Moon is Hyleg, posited in the violent sign Aries, afflicted by the Conjunction of Mars, the Sesqui-quadrate of the Sun, Mercury, and Saturn, from the fixed sign Leo, the Square of Jupiter, the latter being in Opposition to Venus. The Sun is also afflicted by the Conjunction of Saturn, tho Opposition of Herschel, the Sesqui-quadrate of Mars. Here both the malefics afflict both the luminaries, the Giver of Life being in a violent sign; this is a testimony of a remarkable or violent death, the nature of which is foreshadowed, as Saturn is here occidental and afflicts the Moon ; posited in the 10th House, it would denote death by hanging, by command of a magistrate.' [Astrology as it is..., p. 127]

I. Natal chart

Ruler of ASC is MO, being in conjunction with MA in ARI. We observe an opposition between VE (I) and JU. SA and ME are cadent (III) and detrimental. The ALMUTEN is MA (according to Lilly, Ibn-Ezra and Omar). JU (fall) and SA (exile) are debilitated.

II. Primary directions

A. #SA conj MO

It is a mundane direction. As said in the former section, this direction imposes a double computation of the mundane promissor because the numerical numbers of the domitudes are different for the system Campanus and Placidus. We do not end up with the same longitudes and we must therefore carry out the study separately for both domifications. By mundane promissor, i mean anything other ray than conjunction and opposition. In our case, it will be # (counter-parallel) or □ (square), or any ray...

We have the following parameters for SA and zodiacal #SA from parameter in mundo :

L(z) radix SA = 20°45'51" LEO (with a latitude +1°05'48"). Take the Placidus domitude of SA = 80.095°. The placidus domitude of #SA = 279.9° (without latitude). Now, the longitude L(z) Placidus #SA = 334°53'36° PIS with a latitude of -1°03'48". Observe that it is the latitude obtained by the "German" formula found in the works of H.J. Gouchon and Max Duval (see previous sections). We have - as already written - another method which Duval calls the mundane converse direction in which the latitude is obtained by computing directly the ray's domitude.

C2 Regio-Campa

Observe that both Campa or Placidus arcs are obtained, whatever method is used.

C2 result

D --> Z C Regio-Campa 1/EQU orb -0.27.

Of course, when the longitude of the ray (here #SA) is obtained by the Campanus system, it will be necessary to compute the directions only with the system Campanus; same thing when the zodiacal longitude is obtained with the system Placidus.

Observe that the results can be very different from one system to another. In the case of this □ VE-MO, interesting to consider since MO is ruler of the ASC and VE is in house I, the direction is □ MO conj VE with proper movement of MO own and without latitude.

Wentworth Thomas

Wentworth Thomas

(13 April 1593 (O.S.) – 12 May 1641) was an English statesman and a major figure in the period leading up to the English Civil War. He served in Parliament and was a supporter of King Charles I. From 1632–40 he was Lord Deputy of Ireland, where he established a strong authoritarian rule. Recalled to England, he became a leading advisor to the King, attempting to strengthen the royal position against Parliament. When Parliament condemned him to death, Charles signed the death warrant and Wentworth was executed.

His nativity appears in John Gadbury's A Collection of Nativities ... (London, 1662), p. 43.

We see the birth hour in new style : April 23, 1593 at 2:22 PM (London)

I. Natal chart

ASC lonely (VIR, ruler ME) and MC (GEM, ruler ME) - VE in X - ME and SU in VIII, close conjunction - Note that SA is in exile (CAN) and JU (fall) is opposed to SA - SA and (ME, SU) are in mundane // , and so JU is in mundane # with (ME, SU). Finally, MA forms with the group (ME, SU) a real square since at the same time mundane and zodiacal.

Omar gives  VE as ALMUTEN and the HYLEG is ME. SU and MO can't be HYLEG (because of bad rays and of the house position). A lot of planets are debilitated with exception of  ME and VE. If we take VE as ALCHOCODEN, we have :

D = 45 Y (48).

A. The faite of destiny :

1629, Wentworth became a privy counselor. In January 1632, he was made Lord Deputy of Ireland.

We have the two following directions that are notably contradictory :

Strafford met his fate two days later (10 May 1641) on Tower Hill, receiving the blessing of Archbishop Laud (Laud would also be imprisoned in the Tower and executed on 10 January 1645). He was executed before a crowd estimated, probably with some exaggeration, at 300,000 on 12 May 1641...
